Paola Caburlotto - Senior Client Partner at Chaberton Partners

After her Bachelor in English and French and a Master Program in Economics from the University of Genoa, she earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth. Paola started her career as a marine insurance broker and subsequently gained experience in multifunctional leadership positions. She then moved to senior executive search where she gained a thorough experience in Professional & Business Services, Financial Services and Board positions. Since 2012 she has also particularly focused on innovation and change management topics. She is member of various international women’s networks and mentors the new generation of women talents on their career issues. Paola will lead the growth of Chaberton Partners in the Financial Market and the Professional Services with a special focus on Innovation and Digital topics. She will be a Senior Member of the firm Executive Team.

Massimo Carnelos - Head of Economic Office Embassy of Italy

Massimo Carnelos is since March 2018 the Head of the Economic Section of the Italian Embassy in London and he is in the Board of the Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as Alternate Director for Italy. He is the Honorary Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Kingdom, member of the Advisory Board of the Italians’ Private Capital Association (IPCA) and an expert and member of the contact group of the NewMed Research Network. He has a M.A. from the University of Rome and a specialization in international relations. He worked first as a teacher and then for International Organizations (at the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE and at the Press Office of the Council of the Ministers of the European Union). He worked at the Council of the Ministers of Italy and in 2001 joined the Italian Foreign Service. As a career diplomat, he served first at the Middle East Desk and then at the Office for International S&T Cooperation. He was stationed at the Italian Embassy in New Zealand, Cyprus and Iraq, always as Deputy Head of Mission. Back to Rome in December 2013, he worked for more than four years at the Policy Planning Unit of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, where he was responsible for the Research and Publication Section. The focuses of his researches were MENA, BRICS, Asia, international finance, Digital and new Technologies. He has published on international affairs and poetry in literary magazines.

Flavio Cattaneo - Executive Vice President of Italo - NTV

Flavio Cattaneo graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano, he specializes in finance applied to Real Estate (SDA Bocconi). Over the years he has gained consolidated experience in managing large industrial companies. private and public, operating in construction, communications, energy, infrastructure, transport and telecommunications. From 2019 he is a member of the board of Itabus SpA, of which he is also a founding member. Since December 2018 is executive vice president of Italo - NTV SpA, the first private high-speed train company in Europe, of which he has been was managing director from September 2017 to December 2018 and, previously, from February 2015 to March 2016. From March 2016 to July 2017 he was CEO of Telecom Italia SpA where it has improved growth and efficiency, performing an extraordinary corporate turnaround phase. Former independent director (since April 2014) and member of the CNR (until March 2015), in December 2014 enters the Board of Directors of NTV SpA which in February 2015 appoints him CEO.

Maurizio Dallocchio - Professor SDA Bocconi

Maurizio Dallocchio is Full Professor of the Department of Finance at Bocconi University. Since January 2017, he is Department of Finance Liaison Officer at SDA Bocconi School of Management. He is also tenured Professor of the "Restructuring and Corporate Reorganization" course at LUM Jean Monnet in Bari where he is Chairman of the Performance Evaluation Committee. Between 2003 and 2006, he was SDA Dean. He also covered the roles of Director of Master in Corporate Finance (2000-2016) and Director of Corporate Finance and Real Estate Department from 1992 to 2002. He conducts research and award projects in the Research Center "Claudio Demattè" and numerous training and consulting projects for SDA. Maurizio erned a Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University and an ITP (International Teachers Programme) at the London Business School. He has completed his studies at NYU and MCE Brussels.

Paolo Guida - Head of Investments at Blockchain Valley Ventures

Paolo heads the direct investing at BVV looking after dealfow, due diligence and investment contracts. Paolo is also actively involved in building BVV ecosystem and co-investment model. Paolo has gained entrepreneurship experience first-hand having co-founded and launched two businesses himself, and raised or helped to raise finance from private and institutional investors for various tech businesses. Paolo has worked in private equity (Privet Capital) and investment banking (Lehman Brothers) in London and previously spent almost ten years in management consulting (Gemini Consulting, Arthur D Little and Value Partners). Suzanne Heywood - Chairperson at CNH Industrial

Suzanne Heywood was appointed Chairperson, CNH Industrial N.V., in July 2018. Lady Heywood became a Managing Director of Exor in 2016. Prior to that she worked at McKinsey & Company which she joined as an associate in 1997 and left as a Senior Partner (Director) in 2016. Suzanne co-led McKinsey’s global service line on organization design for several years and also worked extensively on strategic issues with clients across different sectors. She has published a book, “Reorg,” and multiple articles on these topics and has also acted as a visiting lecturer at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Suzanne started her career in the U.K. Government as a Civil Servant in the U.K. Treasury. At the Treasury she worked as Private Secretary to the Financial Secretary (who is responsible for all direct taxation issues) as well as leading thinking on the Government’s privatization policy and supporting the Chancellor in his negotiations at ECOFIN (the meeting of European Finance Ministers) in Brussels. Prior to that she studied science at Oxford University (BA) and then at Cambridge University (PhD). Lady Heywood is also a Board Member of The Economist (where she is an Audit Committee member), a non-executive director of Chanel, a director of the Royal Opera House (where she is the Deputy Chair) and of the Royal Academy of Arts Trust. She grew up sailing around the world for ten years on a yacht with her family recreating Captain James Cook’s third voyage around the world.

Back to Italy after the MBA, Loris has been investing in startups for 10 years now, with direct experience in venture capital funds. in 2015 he co-founded Boost Heroes, a business angel fund with a quantitative investment approach and an active portfolio of 100+ investments, mainly in Italian startups. Boost Heroes is also promoter of B Heroes, an investment, advisory and communication program focusing on Italian startups, told in the homonymous television documentary series currently aired on Sky Uno. Moreover, in 2017 Loris co-founded Seedstars International, a US investment fund focusing on startups based in developing countries

Massimiliano Magrini - CO-Founder Managing Partner at United Ventures

Venture Capitalist, passionate about technology and about the role it plays in the overall innovation process. He founded Annapurna Ventures and CO-Founded United Ventures, Italy’s largest Venture Capital fund for the tech sector. As founding Country Manager he launched and scaled up operations of Altavista and Google in Italy. He was part of the Task Force appointed in 2012 by the Italian Governament to support the drafting of the new legislation to support innovation and start ups.

Laura Nateri - Head of Italy at Lazard Asset Management

Laura Nateri is the Head of Italy at Lazard Asset Management (Deutschland) GmbH (Milan) and coordinates Lazard Fund Managers' distribution in Italy. She began working in the investment field in 1994. Prior to joining Lazard in July 2017, Laura Nateri was Country Head Italy and Head of Business Development for Aberdeen Asset Management Italy. Laura joined Aberdeen in 2009 from Credit Suisse, contributing to the launch of the new Milan branch and to the development of the Italian business in all channels. Previously, she worked 2 years as Vice President for Credit Suisse and was responsible for the development of wholesale and distribution channel. Before that, she worked 13 years for BNL – BNP Group first in the Finance division and in the core business of the bank, and since 2000 as a portfolio manager and fund analyst in the asset management company of the group. She has graduated cum laude in Economics and Business at LUISS University in Rome.

Francesco Profumo - President of Compagnia di San Paolo

Francesco Profumo, born in 1953, as of May 2016 is Chairman of Compagnia di San Paolo. He was Minister of Education, University and Research from November 2011 to April 2013 and President of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), from August 2011 to January 2012. In 2003 he became Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Politecnico of Turin, where he was appointed Rector in 2005 up to 2011. He is full professor of Electrical Machines and Drives at Turin’s Politecnico and adjunct professor at the University of Bologna. He has worked in various universities in the world: Argentina, China, Hungary, Albania, Romania, Latvia, USA, Japan, Czech Republic. He was given the title of Honorary PhD by 10 universities in different countries. From 1978 to 1984 he worked as Senior Engineer at the R&D Centre of Ansaldo Group in Genoa. He has been member of the Board of Directors at Telecom, Pirelli, Unicredit Private Bank, Il Sole 24 Ore. He was Chairman of IREN Group until May 2016. He is Chairman of Inwit, President of Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Chairman of the Turin Campus of ESCP, President of SAFM, member of the Board of Directors of Fidia, member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Agnelli, member of the Scientific Board of IIT. He was also honoured with the Lion d'Oro in Turin in 2008, with the Valdo Fusi Award in 2011 and the Guido Carli Award in 2011. He was Chairman of G8 University Summit 2009 in Italy and Chairman of Columbus (association of 55 European and Latin American universities). He is member of Accademia delle Scienze in Turin and of Academia Europaea. He was appointed President of the Compagnia di San Paolo on May 2016 and President of ACRI (Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio SPA) on May 2019.
